We are pleased to announce our 7th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser.
Receive a hand crafted ceramic bowl & a sampling of light cuisine from area restaurants with your minimum donation of $15.
Every dollar raised will be divided evenly between the Food Bank of South Jersey and the Perkins Center for the Arts Scholarship Fund. Help us reach our $10,000 goal to help fight hunger in our community while also enabling individuals of limited financial means to experience the arts.
Individual contributions toward this event and others are welcome throughout the year. We are grateful for gifts of all sizes. If you would like to make a contribution, please reach out by phone. If you would like to sign up as a volunteer please use our sign up genius.
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger that was created by The Imagine Render Group, a nonprofit organization from NC. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to an organization working to end hunger and food insecurity. Each individual or group organizing an Empty Bowls event designs it around the needs of their own community and is responsible for their own event.
