“Unbound Tethers” by Kit Donnelly
Perkins Center for the Arts is pleased to announce “Unbound Tethers,” a solo exhibition by artist Kit Donnelly, opening at the Loft Gallery in Collingswood. The exhibition will run from March 3rd to April 30th, 2025.
Inspired by a quote from death row inmate Alfred Mitchell – “The beauty of life is in the simple, worn, tattered, unbound parts of our imperfect lives, a tapestry created by love and loss” – Donnelly explores the natural world through a practice of wandering, seeking both solid grounding and renewed connections. Her work, a rich tapestry of fiber, collage, monoprint, paint, and stitching, reflects the idea that life is a tapestry loosely woven yet strongly bound.
Donnelly’s intricate multimedia pieces, some of which are large-scale and suspended to allow viewing from both sides, invite contemplation and exploration.
