Benefits of Music Education
Music is a language of its own, a universal expression that transcends words and cultures. Its ability to evoke emotions, inspire creativity, and connect us to something deeper is unparalleled. Whether it’s the joy of discovering a new melody, the thrill of mastering a challenging piece, or the pure satisfaction of making music with others, the intrinsic rewards of musical exploration are boundless. Beyond these personal gratifications, however, the benefits of music education are extensive and include cognitive development, lifelong skills, social connection and emotional well-being.

The Perkins Conservatory provides absolutely top-notch opportunities for our entire family! We’ve taken piano lessons, voice lessons, guitar lessons, and recently started drum lessons there. We’ve also had a chance to highlight our work in recitals and open mics. The teachers are gifted instructors and musicians, not to mention a ton of fun, and Tina runs the program with energy and imagination. It is a true gem in our community.
[My Child is] Going into his 5th year of lessons, my son has built up his piano skills and love for music so much that any time he spots a piano, he will sit down to play his full repertoire, which has gotten increasingly complex. At more than one gathering, he has become the surprise entertainment. Thank you to Mr. Frank for fostering his love for playing and performing!
When our children’s piano teacher of six years moved away, Tina at the Perkins Center helped us find new teachers who perfectly matched each of our children’s interests and abilities. The transition was seamless, and in just two semesters, our kids have formed strong connections with their instructors and shown incredible growth. We’re so grateful for the support and care from the Perkins team!
