New at Perkins! Parent and Child Art Discovery Days will feature free art based programs designed for children and their caregivers. This series will be held at 10:00 a.m. in our Living Room Gallery.

Conversations on Culture

Join us at Perkins Center, Moorestown on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 10:00 am, October 2018 – May 2019, for a free cultural conversation. This series of conversations will feature culturally focused lectures designed to connect and introduce topics of interest in South Jersey.

The series will premiere on October 11th in the Living Room Gallery at Perkins Center in Moorestown.

A Series of FREE Morning Musical Presentations

Take your morning coffee break with us during our twice monthly classical music series. Join us two Thursdays per month from October through May at 10:00 am.

The series by Perkins Conservatory faculty will premiere on October 4th in the Living Room Gallery at Perkins Center in Moorestown.

Join us for free arts and cultural programming every Thursday from October through May at 10:00am.

Coffee & Classics: (Every 1st & 3rd Thursday) A series of musical performances by Perkins Conservatory faculty members.

Conversations on Culture: (Every 2nd Thursday) A series of culturally focused conversations designed to connect and introduce topics of interest in South Jersey.

Art Discovery Arts: (Every 4th Thursday) Art based programs designed for toddlers and PreK children and their grown-ups.

Vinyl Comes Alive on the Evergreen Lawn

Perkins Center for Arts house band, Vinyl Comes Alive, will perform a concert featuring many of the greatest songs from the Motown era, as well as artists and bands that popularized the Stax and Atlantic Records sound.  Songs by artists such as Wilson Picket, Sam and Dave, Otis Redding, Charles Bradley and many others will be presented for your listening pleasure.

Do you wonder why there are nipper dog statues in Moorestown? Join us as Lynne Schill and Kimberly Bunn unpack the history of the nipper dog.

Lunch & Learn : Roses from the Forest to the Garden

 

 Join us for lunch on Valentine’s Day. Drew Lehrian is coming to talk with us about the roses in our gardens, and identify native roses that can be seen in South Jersey.

Drew Lehrian is the Head Gardener for the Barnes Foundation, overseeing the Arboretum Department.  He is responsible for the daily care and maintenance of the living collection and has been working for the Foundation since May of 2010.  He is a 2009 Graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture, where he majored in Landscape Horticulture and minored in Agribusiness.

Prior to his work for the Barnes Foundation, Drew was a Research Assistant at the Ornamental Plant Germplasm Center (OPGC) which is a part of the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service.  The OPGC’s primary role is to conserve and develop germplasm of value for the Floriculture and Nursery Industry.  They currently hold over 3,200 accessions.  Drew also worked for the Ohio Seed Improvement Association, Mason City Schools, Kings Island Amusement Park, and Longwood Gardens.
