Pottery Associate Program

The Pottery Associate Program at Perkins Center for the Arts provides a place where creativity and community spirit flourishes.  The purpose of the program is to provide a studio experience that prospers individual development through a shared creative environment.  Artists interact with one another, show involvement in the functioning of the studio, and work as a team at the organizational level. This program offers individuals the opportunity to further develop their work, to establish professional contacts and standards.  Each artist contributes their own unique sensibility, thus adding to the creative richness of the group. In turn, the studio provides each one of them an encouraging and nourishing environment for their creative growth.

JOANNE MCMANUS – “I LOVE working with clay. Originally schooled in watercolors and oil painting, my goal is to throw a pot that I can paint on, sculpt or carve and create something unusual and eye catching. As most of my pots are utilitarian, its my hope that using this item gives a little glimmer of pleasure in an otherwise mundane day.”
